How To Finish Important Projects

Before I head down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where I finished my first book, From Boomers To Bloggers: Success Strategies Across Generations, I want to share a simple message with you. Here it is:

Every single one of us has greatness within us. We all want to succeed, to do meaningful work, and to be a part of something bigger than us.

The question is: How do we step into our own greatness – and, how do we get our team to do what they’re clearly so talented at doing? How to we get them to see, and step into, their greatness?

Just yesterday I got a phone call from a young leader – here was his question,

“Misti, I have a mentee who is quite talented, but he isn’t taking the steps forward that he needs to. How do I provoke him into his greatness?”

Such a great question!

“Exposure is key,” I said, “Get him around others who are passionate, enthusiastic, eager, and doing great work. It will inspire him to think bigger, connect great people, and take important steps on his own.”

That’s the key: plug them into what naturally motivates them and you won’t have to worry about spending time motivating. Instead, you’ll get to learn from their experiences.

Remember, everyone one has greatness within them – including you – so, go out and expose yourself to others who are doing remarkable things – they’ll rub off. Oh, also… listen to the brilliant people around you. who see, and point out your greatness. That’s what my friend Rita did for me, and as a result I finished my first book, and I’m launching my 4th in just a few weeks!

Here’s to your greatness!
