Many of us are all struggling in various ways with this pandemic. Now, maybe more than ever, many of us need a space to safely ventilate emotions. Emotions are literally energy in motion. When we have a safe space to vent our emotions, we can release them.

Releasing (or processing) emotions allows them to lose the negative impact caused by repressed emotions.

Help your team (at home and work) and yourself ventilate emotions brought on by fears related to this pandemic. Here’s how:

  1. Identify two people you trust and ask them to be your sounding board. Let them know that what you need is someone to simply hear you. There’s no need to fix any of what you’re feeling fearful over, but rather just allow you the space to share, to vent your frustrations, fears, along with your joyful moments.
  1. Open the space for your Team to ventilate their emotions. You can do this by telling them that they can call you directly with challenges, and you will listen without trying to fix. If they need something, let them know that you trust they will ask for it.

The key is to remember that we are all going through this pandemic together, and we Will get to the other side of it. In the meantime, let’s help keep each other sane, and perhaps even innovate throughout this experience.

If you found this video to be helpful, please share it… we all need help remembering what matters most right now.
