Definition of a LeaderWhat’s your idea of a leader? Many people I have encountered from different walks of life and career paths do not see themselves as or consider themselves leaders. Why is this so?

I think most people have an ill-conceived notion of who a leader is. They see power suits, business lunches, and having employees. This is not always the case. Scoutmasters, teachers and even parents are leaders. The issues CEOs tackle daily are essentially the same issues these individuals deal with. Consider the following questions:

  1. Do you want to learn how to work with difficult coworkers (or students or kids)?
  2. Do you want to learn how to negotiate tough conversations with your boss? (Yes, even CEOs have bosses!)
  3. Do you want to know how to build positive relationships at home or at work?

If you answered YES to any of the questions, you are interested in honing your leadership skills and becoming a great leader!
